iPad 2 Released, Cameras, A5 Chip, White And Black Color, Faster Processor

Steve Jobs introduced the new iPad 2 to the world today with great fanfare. The unit is thinner, has a front and rear camera and is twice as fast.

Apple CEO Steve Jobs appeared at the event and announced it will include front and rear-facing cameras for video, a much faster processor and it will be "dramatically thinner."

The price will be the same, starting at $499, and it begins shipping in the U.S. on March 11 and March 25 internationally. The iPad 2 comes in both white or black versions, and both AT&T and Verizon will support it.

Apple’s Senior Vice President Papermaster Stepped Down

The New York Times reports that Papermaster has left and Bob Mansfeld (SVP of Mac Engineering) will assume his role. Tony Fadell, Apple’s senior vice president of the company’s iPod and iPhone divisions, stepped down due to personal reasons.

Inside Apple, he's "the guy responsible for the antenna", so we believed his departure may be related to the iPhone 4. Poor guy...

Apple's Book Store Bestseller List Being Censored !!

Apple is being accused of another case of puritanical censorship after allegedly taking out three adult-oriented books out of their bestseller list today.

The top two books were written by Carl East, a 54-year-old writer responsible for seventy similar titles. The fifth position was occupied by Six Sexy Stories by Ginger Starr. According to the description, it contains "six ultra-erotic short stories for your reading pleasure! M/F, F/F, group scenes and light role play. All characters are 18+ and consenting adults. Not for readers under 18."
